She has a Bachelor of Music from UPEI and a Master of Arts in Musicology from McGill University. After finishing her degree at McGill, she took the position of Music Program Officer with the Canada Council for the Arts. In 2003, she returned to the Island to work as the Administrative Coordinator with the Arts Netlantic research project at UPEI. She is currently the Chair of the PEI Council of the Arts.
